Professional Experience

Boulder, CO — Since 2009 Jim has been pioneering innovative imaging solutions for both the photo industry as well as Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) applications. Recognizing the technological breakthrough that the engineers at HumanEyes Technology have achieved in the 3D stereo and panorama software solutions, Jim decided to join the company and establish the business in North America.

 

His initial and primary activities are concentrated on the Vuze camera, powered by HumanEyes, which is the world’s first consumer virtual reality 360 3D camera and integrated Studio with super-simple automatic VR movie production.

Denver, CO — Working in conjunction with the Ricoh Imaging Company (RIM) Board; successfully led all marketing, financial and business performance functions of both Ricoh and PENTAX product lines. Appointed President upon the successful completion of phased improvements including acquisition, transformation and cost model strategies to align with Ricoh Company Limited (RCL) global standards. Position requires fostering community relations, executing annual and quarterly business plans, budgeting, marketing, sales, procurement and forecasting needed to deliver meaningful shareholder value.

San Diego, CA — Created a start-up business that offered 360 spherical imaging for business virtual tour space. The focus was directed on both B2B and B2C, successfully creating a niche in a market dominated by large, established, and entrenched competitors. Launched operations within four months and built a scalable and repeatable model within a year. Led vision and strategic purpose formulation, initiated growth strategies, approved financial measures, provided guidance on operations, and ensured cost-effective execution. Pioneered methods to produce cost effective 360-degree spherical photography solutions in the hospitality, food service, retail, and entertainment verticals. Diversified product portfolio to include consumer photography solutions under the brand of Reflection 360. These efforts drew the attention of global companies including Ricoh, whose Chairman requested assistance in integrating Pentax (below).

San Diego, CA — Appointed Sr. Product Manager, leading consumer digital still camera categories. Grew the business 1000%, from 400k units in 2000 to more than 4M units. Developed and set winning business strategy and execution by leveraging unique consumer insights, innovative products, detailed go to market plans, and brand relevant marketing strategy. Programs and operations exceeded all P&L measures, including double-digit improvements in NIBT.

Product Marketing Manager – Digital Photography

San Diego, CA — Recruited from Scitex with assignment to launch Sony Electronics into the digital photography industry including large photo studios and professional photographers. Through state of the art $35,000 digital cameras managed complex business development and product lifecycle strategies.
